The University will reduce its carbon dioxide emissions from travels and transports by 20 percent by 2015 compared to 2008.
Travels affect the environment in many ways. Travel leads to local and regional problems, such as acidification, the formation of ground-level ozone, health problems and global warming.
The University of Gothenburg also has a goal of increasing internationalization while there is also a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from travels. This is a great challenge for the university, to reduce the emissions from travels and at the same time be an international successfull university.
