Chemicals at the university that are included in the PRIO database, are to be reduced by at least 15 per cent by 2015 in comparison to the result of 2009.
Many chemicals are hazardous to health and the environment. The university works actively with reducing the use of hazardous chemicals, by decreasing the quantities used or by substituting or replacing hazardous chemicals. Chemicals are mainly used in laboratories and artistic activities, but also whilst cleaning its premises etc. At the university there are various research projects within the area. This way we can learn more about the different ways chemicals can affect the environment, and how to prevent chemicals from having negative effects on the environment and the human health.
